Becoming Dominicans
Frassati Fellowship
The first step in becoming a Dominican is getting to know us. You will often hear of “Come & See” in many places. In Vancouver, we emphasise “get to know”; so enquirers -- interested young men -- from Western Canada, "Come & Visit." Getting to know Dominicans and Dominican life is a gradual process. Our communities reflect the cultural diversity of the cities where we are situated and the Vancouver community has Canadian, Italian, Armenian, and Indian Dominicans. By relating with others we learn about ourselves.
We offer “Discernment Days” throughout the year where enquirers spend a day with our Dominican community praying together, meditating on the Scriptures, participating in conferences, and sharing a meal together. This permits a gradual vocational discernment with the Dominican Friars and also discovering the incredible history and spirituality of the Dominican Order.
